Roll out of bed, rain or shine and you could opt to cook at home, but then again, why not let someone else do the cooking.  Seattle has no shortage of fine spots for breakfast and our sampling below is just the tip of the ice berg.  Bon Apetit!

14 Carrot Café

 

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast, brunch or lunch at Eastlake's 14 Carrot Café. Standard breakfast fare with some nifty specials thrown in each day and an excellent latte cart outside on the sidewalk make this place worth waiting in line for when it's busy.  he room also features art from 1-3 local artists changed out monthly.

Alki Cafe

 

Just across the street from the waters of Elliot Bay lies the Alki Café on the north shore of West Seattle where tasty food and good service await you.  Walk off your meal with a stroll along the waterside parkway.  If you just need something to go check in with their bakery across the street.

Another fine addition to the growing number of Chow Foods establishments in the city.  Located in the University Village, Atlas features an Americana menu that changes quarterly.

The Blue Star features casual fare that always has a few house specials tossed in to boot.  Lots of egg selections with various concoctions you might not have even thought of.

Coastal Kitchen

 

Large portions and an open kitchen await you when you visit Capitol Hill's Coastal Kitchen.  Menu changes every few months and the custom made foreign language tape loops in the bathrooms will send you back to the table with a smile on your face.  If there's a line outside the counter inside is a sure bet and a great people watching spot as well.

Julia's in Wallingford

 

This Wallingford gem used to exist with three other locations around Seattle.  Simply one of the best breakfast and brunch menu's in the city with a home style atmosphere to boot.  Expect a wait on weekends.

Longshoreman's Daughter

 

Adding to the already artsy atmosphere of Fremont's lifestyle the longshoreman's daughter is a great spot for breakfast with plenty of yummy specials mixed in with a wholesome menu.  Portions are large and the inside kitsch blends well with it's Fremont location.

There's no shortage of and humor here as you dine on an honest portion of standard breakfast items.  Cow stuff adorns many walls and the addition of an espresso stand next door has upped the ante on their caffeine offerings.

Just up the street from Lake Union, the Portage Bay Café pays homage to the rowing teams of yesterday and today while serving up delicious casual American fare.  The pancake bar insures you'll have no trouble loading up your plate with lots of tasty fruit compotes, whipped cream and butter.  In the summer the patio provides a nice alternative in the sunshine.
