IT'S TIME FOR SOME FUN!
Our first annual Seasonal Affective Disorder
Dinner!
January (snow, rain, dreariness, end of holidays) is the
time to raise your spirits with a fun event. And the most off-kilter
event this January is the Seattle DINING! Seasonal Affective
Disorder Dinner (not a fundraiser) on January 21 at
Steelhead Diner. Besides being a kick in the ----, this dinner is
also the kick-off to the tenth anniversary of Seattle DINING!
We all need a little burst of sunshine right now - a
light-hearted bit of fun to remind us that longer, lighter days are
coming. With the help of the Indoor Sun Shoppe, you'll get just
that! Grey, dim winters in the Northwest can inhibit the production of
serotonin that can effect mood. Dinner guests will be bathed in light
(this short burst of light in one evening won't banish the blues, but
the combination of light, food and wine should help for awhile!).
What else is involved? An amazing four-course menu
created by Steelhead Diner Co-owner/Executive Chef Kevin Davis filled
with ingredients that increase the level of serotonin in our bodies.

Tombo Tuna (B6) Tataki with Cara Cara Oranges and Pickled Black Radishes

Silky Carrot (B6) Bisque with Sunflower Seeds (B6)

Neah Bay Coho Salmon (B6, Omega 3 Fatty Acids) with
faro risotto and
Brussels Sprouts Leaves (B6) and Grain Mustard Fonduta

Dessert:
Brown Rice (B6) Pudding with Winter Fruit Compote
Another potentially effective serotonin-increaser is
wine (excellent news!). Mercer Estates will be sharing their
wines with each course and Esquin Wine Merchants will be on hand
to take orders for guests' favorite Mercer Estates wines.
