The Columbia River Gorge
Dining options
During many trips to the Columbia Gorge area, we've run across a
number of great places to eat. Here's a quick look at some of our
favorites.
Andrew's Pizza
It's just a local pizza joint with casual tables and people coming
in and out. But it's good pizza! Plus there are calzones, salad and
bread sticks. Great for take-out, too.

Big River Grill
Same owners as Joe's El Rio (see below). Sometimes their main
entrees may disappoint, but there are some good solid dishes
here-sandwiches, soups, salads. Full bar. Nice, relaxing atmosphere.
Amusing things hanging on the walls.

Brian's Pourhouse
Yes, there's plenty of pouring going on, but the food may surprise
you (in a good way). Lots of choices, high quality, good appetizers and
main dishes. Casual atmosphere.

Celilo Restaurant and Bar
Lovely yet casual, Celilo is a great spot to relax after a hard day
of touring the area, hiking or parasailing. Chef Ben Stenn creates some
interesting and tasty dishes that go well with Northwest wines. They use
local products and purchase naturally-raised products and organic
products whenever they can.

Everybody's Brewing
A large open space with tall tables, a long bar and a big deck are
all fine places to throw yourself down and enjoy the beer, burritos,
sandwiches, salads and seasonal specials. Plus it's just a short walk
from the Inn of the White Salmon if you're staying there. The deck has a
view of Mt. Hood. Wine is served along with beer.

Good River Restaurant
Great bar to sit and talk with locals and passers-by, an open
kitchen to watch the activity and a comfortable dining room--all the
pieces are in place. Hours vary by season, so always check before you
go. Sunday brunch also includes some regular lunch items. Private room
that sits approximately 15-20.

Joe's El Rio Cafe
Some standard Mexican, Tex-Mex dishes and some real stand-outs like
the seafood enchiladas. In the season, do not miss their fresh fruit
margaritas. Please!

Multnomah Falls Lodge
Beautiful site at Multnomah Falls. People converge here as soon as
the weather gets nice, so if you want to have dinner or Sunday brunch
during summer, make those reservations. The restaurant is inside the
lodge--dark wood, fireplace, lovely. Espresso cart outside.

Solstice Wood Fire Cafe
Truly a locals hang out, they serve fresh, local, seasonal, organic
food (including organic baby food). Pizza, sandwiches, soups, stew,
wood-fired chicken and baked pasta. Local wine and beer available. Very
much a family place with a kids play area. Patio dining in warm weather.

Great view of the Columbia River, parasailers, paddle wheel boat and
mountains. Sit on the deck if at all possible. Full bar. Lots of
seafood. The building is an historic site, built in the early 1900s.

Walking Man Brew Pub
You'll probably like the beer here better than the food, but that's
mainly because the food is fairly standard and the beer is pretty darned
good. Brewed on site. Very casual, patio dining.
