Josh Groff

Partner Local 360, Managing Partner, Local Burger

Josh grew up in Green River, Wyoming, and moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington. His first job was at a diner in his home town when he was 16. He worked in the industry while in college and in Belltown as a bartender and server.

After school, he worked in marketing and finance, and he and his wife have invested in a few bars and restaurants in San Francisco, the first being District, a wine bar, that opened in 2006. Around 2005, Josh and a friend were looking into buying a bar in the Pike Place Market and found that someone else was also looking at it, a guy named Marcus Charles. "I did some research and thought this guy was out of our league, so I contacted him and said maybe we could invest together. We met and he shared with me why neither of us should invest in that specific bar. That's the kind of guy he is-he didn't know me at all, yet he shared his thought process and work with me." They became friends and Marcus came to him to talk about the old Flying Fish space in Belltown and putting in a restaurant with a Northwest focus. Local 360 opened in January 2011.

With the huge popularity of their burger at Local 360, and the customer demand for more burgers, they decided to open a burger house with the local angle. Due to the number of business interests Marcus has, he is not involved in the day-to-day operations of Local Burger, although he is an owner. Josh is the managing partner of Local Burger.
