Café to Café

Café Flora's Sea-Tac baby

Great vegetarian food at the airport just hasn't rung true in the past. Now we must let go of those perceptions because Café Flora has opened a satellite spot at Sea-Tac that does not disappoint.

The menu offerings are fewer, true, but die-hard Café Flora lovers are delighted with the fact that the dishes on both menus taste the same. Items currently range from Oaxacan tacos to a black bean Italian burger, to a pasta, with a Caesar salad with capers, yam fries and more. Each day, local producers arrive bearing fresh ingredients: Local Roots in Carnation, Tonnemakers in Woodinville, Whistling Train Farm in Kent, and Hayton Farms in Skagit Valley. Same great ingredients!

Additionally, there is a full bar with fun cocktails as well as traditional favorites. Staff cross-over from Café Flora to Floret ensures continuity.

Although the restaurant is on the concourse, once you're in, it feels non-airport-ish, which is a big accomplishment considering you can watch the planes come and go outside the windows. It has a relaxing feel that not every spot at the airport projects.

In addition to the full-service dining room and bar, there are grab-and-go items (it is the airport, after all) available from 5 a.m.-9 p.m. daily that encompass breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Floret is a wonderful alternative for dining at the airport.
