| Cooking With Class is an event created
in 2002 by Connie Adams and Eileen Mintz to benefit two Providence Senior and Community Services
programs.
Providence ElderPlace, a one-stop-shop for people who
otherwise would qualify to live in a nursing home, is an innovative
program of healthcare and social services for those ages 55 and
above. The PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care
for the Elderly) model of care keeps older adults as healthy as
possible and in the community by providing: primary and specialty
medical care (including dental and vision), day health program,
prescription medications, physical and occupational therapy, social
work services, in-home care (chore services and personal care
services). Transportation is provided for participants to and from
Providence ElderPlace. Some care services can be provided in the
participant's home. Eligible participants are on Medicaid, Medicare
or pay privately. For more information, visit
www.providence.org/elderplace or call 206-320-5325.
Heritage House at the Market serving King County and established in 1990 at the
Pike Place Market, offers a quality urban lifestyle with the
assisted living services that people want and need. Heritage House
was the first assisted living community in Washington to serve a
diverse population including the needy and disenfranchised.
Apartments and common spaces have breathtaking views of Puget Sound
and the Olympic Mountains. Heritage House is the result of a
public/private partnership among Providence Health System, the
Seattle Housing Authority, Pike Place Medical Clinic, City of
Seattle, and State of Washington. Because of our mission and
specialized services, the residents’ average length of stay is
nearly double the national average in assisted living. |
