Firenze   425-957-1077
15600 NE 8th St, Bellevue   Bellevue
Firenze is a long-time resident of Crossroads Mall and has been making authentic Italian dishes and creating wonderful dining experiences since 1992. You may be familiar with the menu items, but you'll be surprised at the depth of flavors. Most of the staff has been there years and years because they like it--and that means a good service experience for guests. Lots of Italian wines to choose from, even one from owner Salvatore Lembo's vineyard in Italy.

FOX Sports Grill   206-340-1369
1522 6th Ave, Seattle   Downtown
Lots of "natural" wonders here--a couple of waterfalls and some rock walls. Upstairs inside the entrance are more tables with ringside seats for watching sidewalk sports as well as those on TV. Downstairs the bar/dining area has several large screen TVs and numerous small screens around the room--can't miss a moment of FOX! A separate non-blaring TV dining room (of course there is a TV there, it's just turned down a bit) is a nice change of pace. The wine room is great for a private party. Chicken strips, prime rib dips, steaks and a fresh sheet plus some nice desserts are what to expect from the menu. Tasty large salads, also. Breakfast is available on weekends until 2 p .m. Full bar.
Specializing in American, Sports, Breakfast (weekends only), Banquet, Kid-Friendly.

Peso's   206-283-9353
605 Queen Anne Ave N, Seattle   Queen Anne (Lower)
In the early days, when it was time to party, this was the place to be. It actually still is, but Peso's has grown up, too. The menu has many Mexican-influenced dishes as well as true Mexican fare and the wine list is over 200 bottles. Breakfast is served every day now ("hangover breakfasts filling the community's unmet needs" ). On busy days/nights, the noise level can be high, but it's a fun place to be. Full bar.

Red Fin Restaurant   206-441-4340
612 Stewart St, Seattle   Downtown
Bold coloring and very tall front windows make quite a statement. Booths manage to give a sense of privacy and tables along the front window get the view of sidewalk activity. A step up lands you in the lounge and sushi bar. The restaurant serves the hotel as well as the general public, so breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. There are a few non-Japanese dishes, but the vast majority of the menu is made up of noodles, sushi, sashimi and bento boxes. You'll also find fun dishes like fish 'n chips--miso-poached salmon with Japanese sweet potato tempura. Nightly specials give a reason to return frequently.
Specializing in Japanese, Sushi, Happy Hour.

Salish Lodge Dining Room   800-272-5474 or 425-888-2556
6501 Railroad Avenue SE, Snoqualmie   Other Eastside, Out-of-Town!
Simply the most romantic out-of-the-way dining near Seattle. The five star restaurant is complimented by a breathtaking view of the falls below and on cold winter days you can anticipate snow. Sit near the fireplace and enjoy a little history--it's the last original feature of the Lodge and is nearly 100 years old. In addition to the intimate and cozy dining room, there's a nook that holds two, one for four and one that holds no more than 10. That room is tucked away one floor below the dining room and has it's own private deck. Lovely. Open for lunch and dinner.

Outdoor deck dining (ODD) is primo here whether you're having lunch or watching the sun set behind the Olympics.

18000 Pacific Hwy S, Seatac   Airport
The 70s look is still there, but it's fun to visit and watch the cooks from your high-backed counter seat. Menu items aren't wildly original. They're tasty, but you pay a high price. Serving sizes are shrinking--they used to be almost too big, now it doesn't seem like much of a deal.

Appetizers and entree choices range from fairly typical (artichoke and Dungeness crab dip, veggie lasagne) to unusual (grilled Cuban prawns, Thai curry roast pork). The bar is limited to about 10 counter seats and a couple small tables, one near the fireplace. The rest of the room is filled with booths. Specializing in Eclectic, Brunch (weekends).

35th Street Bistro   206-547-9850
709 N 35th, Seattle   Fremont
Bistro is a word that gets tossed around a lot, but it really is appropriate here. It's a small café-style spot with mixed wood furniture, live trees and a small bar area with a few tall tables to go with the bar seating. Whenever possible, they use local, organic foods. Dishes include braised meats and fresh seafood. There's a good-sized wine list with plenty of by-the-glass options. Tasty brunch and bar menu.
