22 Doors   206-324-6406
405 15h Ave E, Seattle   Capitol Hill
Appetizers and entree choices range from fairly typical (artichoke and Dungeness crab dip, veggie lasagne) to unusual (grilled Cuban prawns, Thai curry roast pork). The bar is limited to about 10 counter seats and a couple small tables, one near the fireplace. The rest of the room is filled with booths. The room feels fairly warm despite the incredibly high ceilings (with cook chandeliers), but the noise level is almost unbearable.
Specializing in Eclectic, Brunch (weekends).

520 Bar & Grill   425-450-0520
10146 Main St, Bellevue   Bellevue
"520" is the number of the residential area between the three freeways, the area shared by 22,000 people. They can also share all the small plates at 520--it's the socially/culturally correct thing to do. Think meze, tapas, antipasto. You can also think fish & chips, lamb burger and nachos. Full bar.
Specializing in Eclectic, Northwest.

Barking Dog Alehouse   206-782-2974
705 NW 70th St, Seattle   Ballard
A little loud when it's full, but the Barking Dog serves up a fresh selection of pub grub, unique beers on tap and plenty of scotch selections.
Specializing in Eclectic, Pub Grub, Breakfast (weekends only).

Betty   206-352-3773
1507 Queen Anne Ave N, Seattle   Queen Anne (Upper)
Betty's long room is filled with tables and booths up front, a long bar where you can sit, eat and watch the action in the very open kitchen, and a full bar at the back of the space. Dark wood, lots of window space and white linens offer a casual, fairly comfortable space. Dishes range from items like pork tenderloin and a fish of the day to a standard hamburger and a meatball sandwich. Everyone should be able to find something they'd like.
Specializing in Northwest, Eclectic, American.

Bick's Broadview Grill   206-367-8481
10555 Greenwood Ave N, Seattle   North Seattle
A hit since 1997, Bick's is a solid collection of seafood, meats, and desserts all done in a simple yet interesting way. Some foods are spicy, others are tame. Check out their daily specials--they're a change from the generally unchanging menu and often reasonably priced.
Specializing in Eclectic.

Blue Onion Bistro   206-729-0579
5801 Roosevelt Wy NE, Seattle   University District
Intentionally simple and good-humored, this University District restaurant is a fun place to eat your "Plain Jane Salad" and "Some Kind of Soup." Nevertheless, these dishes are flavorful and will satisfy the most serious palate. Meat and seafood dishes are created with equal skill. "Small" reflects the wine list both in size and price mark up.
Specializing in Eclectic.

Café Bonjour   206-285-1125
1629 Queen Anne Ave N, Seattle   Queen Anne (Upper)
A Queen Anne mini-gem, Café Bonjour offers an unusual and delicious mix of Hungarian goulash, stuffed cabbage rolls, panini, salads, sweet and savory crepes and more. They also offer afternoon tea (with 24 hour notice) and a nice selection of wines. Just want a quick pick-me-up? Stop in for espresso or gelato.
Specializing in Hungarian, Crepes, Soup, Eclectic, French, Sandwiches.

Café Nola   206-842-3822
101 Winslow Wy E, Bainbridge Island   Bainbridge
Owned by a husband and wife, this café definitely has a homey feel. Dishes are eclectic and produce is island-grown. Beer and wine.
Specializing in Eclectic, Romantic, Brunch (Weekend).

Café Venus   206-624-4516
609 Eastlake Ave E, Seattle   Eastlake
Funky and small, this Eastlake eatery offers an eclectic menu ranging from hummus to specialty soups and sandwiches to daily specials like quiche. Located right next door to the Mars Bar.
Specializing in Eclectic.

Chao Bistro Bar   206-324-1010
1200 E Pike St, Seattle   Capitol Hill
"Comfort food with a contemporary twist" and lots of Pacific Rim ingredients means ribs with a banana barbecue sauce, miso fettucine, orange glazed tofu, kalbi tacos and burgers. Dark interior (but lots of windows in the bar), an open kitchen and an intimate dining room offer a pleasant environment.
Specializing in Eclectic, Fusion, Japanese.

Charlie's on Broadway   206-323-2535
217 Broadway E, Seattle   Capitol Hill
Truly an eclectic assortment of knick knacks, lamps, people and food, this Broadway lifer is still going strong. Fittingly, the entrance to the bar is off the back alley, although it can be reached by going through the restaurant. A front dining area is good for people watching. Menu items range from buffalo wings to pasta to prime rib.
Specializing in Eclectic.

Cyclops   206-441-1677
2421 1st Ave, Seattle   Belltown
The active bar and simple food makes this a fun place to go after work. Options range from ribs to gnocchi to warm Brie to smoked ravioli. Good appetizer list. The bar area can get quite loud--be prepared. Unusual interior decorations.
Specializing in Eclectic.

Deception Café & Grill   360-293-9250
5596 State Route 20, Anacortes   Out-of-town!
Deception Pass is so beautiful, you have to go there several times a year just to look. And right down the road is the Deception Café & Grill, just waiting to serve you breakfast, lunch or dinner. Their menu veers from the common (2 eggs any style, chicken strips, burgers) to all over the place (yellow Thai curry, Mediterranean sandwich, jager schnitzel). And it's good. They work with local producers to bring in fresh ingredients. Great spot for families. Beer and wine.
Specializing in Eclectic, International, Breakfast, Northwest, Catering.

Elemental @ Gasworks
3309 Wallingford Ave, Seattle   Wallingford, Fremont
Designed as "an eclectic culinary endeavor," Elemental is just that. Five tables and two cocktail-type settings with a table and two chairs, plus a few bar stools. No bar/lounge, but they serve cocktails and wine. Elemental must refer to the interior as well--particle board floor; exposed ductwork in the high ceiling; long, thin, hanging filament lights. Very bare but seemingly functional from the wonderful aromas and happy diners. The menu is small. You choose from about four price categories and can enjoy small tastes, a nice entrée or one from each category for a prix fixe meal. Exterior? Look for the Regatta Condos, because there's no sign of Elemental.
Specializing in Eclectic.

Etta's Seafood   206-443-6000
2020 Western Ave, Seattle   Pike Place Market
Etta's has been a Seattle favorite for some time now. Always great seafood and desserts that are to die for (well, it's Tom Douglas, right?). Open for brunch on the weekends.
Specializing in Seafood, Desserts, Eclectic, Christmas (Eve-lunch only), New Years (Eve).

Eva Restaurant and Wine Bar   206-633-3538
2227 N 56th St, Seattle   Green Lake, Tangletown
There is much care taken with the food at this cozy neighborhood spot. Dishes are interesting and range world-wide. The wine bar is a great place for wine, but beer and cocktails share the limelight.
Specializing in Northwest, Wine, Eclectic.

Flow Lounge   206-282-0142
2 Boston St, Seattle   Queen Anne (Upper)
Flow is lounge central on top of Queen Anne. The bar area itself is lovely with copper tones. The "dining" area is low cocktail tables and cushy chairs. We say "dining" because it's not really a restaurant--they're focused on cocktails and other beverages with some food to go along. They have a nice selection of small plates, but also offer some big bites. Food ranges from pot stickers to rib eye steak.
Specializing in International, Eclectic.

icon Grill   206-441-6330
1933 5th Ave, Seattle   Downtown
Despite its size and the amazing amount of colored glass fixtures and shades of paint used throughout this restaurant, it manages to be inviting and almost cozy. A lovely wood stairway leads up to a private dining room. The full bar is on the main floor. A Northwest flair on seafood and meats sounds fairly standard but offers some interesting choices.
Specializing in Eclectic, Happy Hour, Banquet.

Joey's   206-749-5639
901 Fairview Ave N, Seattle   Lake Union
Beautiful view and every seat in the house gets it due to the layered look. Beautiful staff--surely picked for their looks although they are very enthusiastic and generally knowledgable. A menu that trots the globe--bento boxes, lobster ravioli, lamb chop grill--but designed so that everyone will find something they like. You kind of want to dislike it for being a chain and too hip, but really the food is pretty good. Their patio has an incredible view of Lake Union, but don't bring the kids--it's 21 and over only with a full-service bar.
Specializing in Eclectic, Cocktails.

Joey's   425-637-1177
800 Bellevue Way NE in Bellevue Place, Bellevue   Bellevue
Dark wood, tinted glass, plasma TVs in the bar and big comfortable leather chairs at wood dining tables--it's a pretty comfortable space for a place that is looking to be hip and young. The staff is young, enthusiastic and surely picked for their looks. Menu items are all over the place and that's on purpose--they have something for everyone from ginger beef to Mediterranean basa to pizza to ahi tacos. They work to use local products even though they're a chain from Canada.
Specializing in Eclectic, Cocktails.
