Located in the Euro-style Mayflower Park Hotel, Andaluca provides an elegant atmosphere. Colors are muted and booths and tables are fairly private. The Mediterranean menu includes tapas and full meals. An award winning favorite with many.

Located in The Shops at The Bravern, John Howie Steak is just as fabulous as its surroundings. Lovely dining rooms, intimate hallway booths and a great bar with a piano. The steaks are excellent--28 or 42-day custom-aged USDA Prime beef as well as American Wagyu Kobe Style beef, true Japanese Wagyu Kobe beef or a combination. Seafood lovers and vegetarians are well taken care of as well. Despite the whole steak house thing, lunches are more casual and very reasonably priced.

Although the name sounds like a casual take-out joint, the room is lovely, calm and dimly lit. You don't see it from your car, but it's worth a quick turn off the busy street. The restaurant is 100% halal (the Muslim version of kosher and also homestyle cooking). A good-sized lunch buffet offers some nice surprises Monday through Friday and they have a weekend special on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. Special skewers handmade in England are used for cooking the kababs. Ice creams are made in-house.

This Afghanistan restaurant is true to its roots. Atmosphere is nothing fancy, but the aromas from spices draw you in. Meats are marinated and grilled, then served over basmati rice. Vegetarian dishes are very nice.
