Bold coloring and very tall front windows make quite a statement. Booths manage to give a sense of privacy and tables along the front window get the view of sidewalk activity. There are a few non-Japanese dishes, but the vast majority of the menu is made up of noodles, sushi, sashimi and bento boxes. Seattle's location is underground--enter on street level and take stairs or elevator down to the lovely dining room. It has an old-fashioned feel to it with pictures like the Space Needle being built, the onion loaf that comes before dinner and the walk-through of cuts of meat and other offerings by the attentive staff. Two nice rooms are available for private dining (40 in each or combine them for large groups up to 80). Be prepared to pay the big bucks for quality and service.
